For mentors
Help someone build their first real experience.
The most valuable thing an experienced professional can give a beginner is not an answer. It’s the question they should have asked. ITpunks mentors ask before they tell, review with reasons, and sign an honest evaluation.

FAQ
Questions mentors ask
How much time does mentoring take?
You choose. A guest session is 90 minutes once per cohort. A project mentor spends two to three hours a week with one team for ten weeks. We never expect more than you signed up for.
What does a mentor actually do?
Ask before you tell. Review work and explain why. Show how you actually do the job. Sign an honest evaluation at the end. You are not there to write the code for them.
Is mentoring paid?
Guest sessions are voluntary and public recognition is part of the deal. Project mentors from sponsoring companies are on their company's time. Other arrangements are discussed individually.
