Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies itpunks.com uses, why, and how you can change your choice. Read it together with our Privacy Notice.

1. What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We use very few of them, and none for advertising. All of the cookies below are either set directly by itpunks.com (first-party) or, in the case of Google Analytics, by Google acting as our processor (third-party) — we do not allow any other third party to set cookies on this site.

_GRECAPTCHA (and similar, set by Google)Strictly necessary (abuse prevention)Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise checks that a form is submitted by a person, not a bot. It loads only on the pages that contain an application or challenge form.Set and controlled by Google (typically 6 months)Visitors of the form pages
_ga, _ga_*AnalyticsGoogle Analytics 4 — helps us understand, in aggregate, how the site is usedSet and controlled by GoogleOnly if you accept analytics cookies

We do not use any advertising or ad-personalisation cookies, and we tell Google to keep ad-related storage switched off regardless of your analytics choice.

[LEGAL REVIEW: reCAPTCHA Enterprise is loaded on the form pages without a consent gate, on the basis that bot protection of a public form is strictly necessary. Confirm this classification and Google's current cookie names/durations before publication.]

3. Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Strictly necessary and functional cookies are always active because the site cannot work properly without them — for example, remembering that you already answered the banner. Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are only set, and Google Analytics only loads, if you click Accept. If you click Reject, no Google Analytics script or cookie is loaded and your visit is not measured. If you take neither action, analytics stays off.

If you accept analytics, your IP address is anonymised before Google processes it, and the data is used only for aggregate website statistics, never to identify you individually.

4. Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time with the Change cookie settings button at the bottom of this page: it clears your earlier choice, switches analytics off, and the banner asks you again. Deleting the itp_consent cookie in your browser's settings has the same effect.

Most browsers also let you block or delete all cookies from their settings, not just ours. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the site may stop working correctly — for example, the site may not remember that you already made a cookie choice, and Technology LT staff will not be able to sign in to the admin area.
